Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) is an Israeli firearms manufacturer. The company was founded in 1933 when the Israel Military Industries (IMI) LTD. manufactured weapons under a British Mandate. Around the late 1950’s, IMI began working closely with the IDF (Israel Defense Force) to help develop state of the art, advanced small arms that would benefit the troops fighting in close quarters urban environments. The results were some of the most advanced weapons systems being utilized by law enforcement agencies, militaries, and security firms to include : The UZI, TAVOR, X95, NEGREV, GALIL ACE, and JERICHO pistols. In 2005 the company then privatized a small arms division of the company and named it Israel Weapons Industry (IWI). Some of the most famous and well know weapons created are the UZI which now comes as a pistol as well as a pistol stabilizing brace. One of the top selling rifles would be the TAVOR series to include the X95. The X95 is the latest version of the TAVOR bullpup rifle line and incorporates more familiar controls more suited toward the AR-15/ M4/M-16 family of weapons.
